
Chicken Tikka is a frequent in our house. We love having this healthy tikka which is absolutely flavourful and has no artificial colouring. We love to have it with a sprinkle of Chaat Masala and Mint and Coriander Chutney on the side. Whether, you want to serve for a party or just have it for an evening snack these Chicken Tikkas are perfect.
Here are the easy steps;
Cooking Time 20-25 minutes (varies slightly across different ovens)

Ingredients
- Chicken Fillets 350g
- Lemon Juice 1 teaspoon
- Ginger and Garlic (pounded) 2 tablespoons
- Hung Yogurt /Curd 1.5 cup
- Mustard Oil 2-3 tablespoons
- Tandoori Chicken Masala 2-3 tablespoons
- Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder to taste
- Chaat Masala to taste
- Salt to taste
- Capsicum (diced) 1/2 medium
- Onion (diced) 1 medium
- Salted Butter 2-3 tablespoons (used during grilling/bbqing)
- Vegetable Oil 1-2 tablespoon (for brushing on the grill before grilling/bbqing)
Method
Step 1
1st Marinade – Marinate the Chicken Fillets with lemon juice and half of the pounded ginger and garlic. Keep aside for 10-15 minutes.
Step 2
2nd Marinade – Add Hung Yogurt/Curd, Mustard Oil, Tandoori Masala, Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder, Chaat Masala and Salt to a mixing bowl and mix well. Taste and adjust salt and any other ingredient (if required).
Step 3
Then one by one take the Chicken Fillets in your hands and coat well with the Hung Yogurt/Curd Marinade. Also coat the diced capsicum and onion well with the same marinade. Now, alternating between Chicken and Vegetables arrange in the Skewers. Keep in the fridge from anywhere between 30 minutes to 6 hours.

Step 4
Preheat your oven/bbq, then brush some vegetable oil on the grill and put the Chicken Tikka and Vegetable Skewers for cooking. After 5-7 minutes, brush some salted butter and turn the skewers. Let the Chicken cook completely by turning at internals (do note that every oven’s heat varies so keep checking the chicken). Once, they start getting brown marks that they are near to being cooked.
Step 5
Serve the Chicken Tikkas sprinkled with some Chaat Masala and Mint and Coriander Chutney on the side.
