A great source of dietary fiber and vitamin B6, corn provides incredible taste and pleasure even in it’s simplest form. We love the easy peasy Buttered Corn at home. It’s a great alternative to binging on junk food during an untimely hunger. You can either take out corn kernels from the cob, boil and spice them or simply have a packet of frozen corn kernels handy in your refrigerator, thaw them for 10 mins. before cooking and fry them in salted butter and have them hot. These are extremely delicious and a great hit with the kids.
Here are the easy steps;
Preparation Time 10 minutes (to thaw frozen corn kernels)
Cooking Time 5-7 minutes
Servings 4-5
Main Ingredient Corn Kernels
Course Appetiser/Starter/Snack
Level Of Cooking Easy
Ingredients
- Corn Kernels 500 grams (frozen)
- Olive Oil/Cooking Oil 1 tablespoon
- Salted Butter 2 tablespoons
- Salt to taste (I used truffle salt)
- Black Pepper Powder 1/2 teaspoon
Method
Step 1
Heat oil and salted butter together in a pan (heating the two together prevents the butter from burning). Add corn kernels and mix well. As frozen corns have a tendency to release water when cooked, so start with a medium flame for the first few minutes, then cook on a high flame for 3-4 minutes (stirring intermittently).
Step 2
Once there’s no water in the pan, add the seasoning (salt and black pepper powder) and mix well. Transfer the buttered corns to bowls and enjoy with your loved ones.
I would love to hear your feedback when you try this recipe.
