My better half and I were dining at Jamie’s Italian a few days back. We had a delicious Affogato there and I decided to make it when back home. It is an Italian dessert consisting of vanilla ice cream topped with a shot of espresso coffee. He helped me with espresso coffee made from our capsule coffee machine and I made this super delicious vanilla ice cream with just four very basic ingredients without an ice cream maker. Sharing the recipe with you all. Give this combination a try and you are going to relish it for sure.
Here’s the step by step recipe of Vanilla Ice Cream;
Preparation Time 5-10 minutes
Blending Time 2-5 minutes
Servings 3-4
Main Ingredients Fresh Cream, Vanilla Essence & Sweetened Condensed Milk
Main Equipment Blender
Course Ice Cream/Dessert
Level Of Blending Low to Medium
Ingredients
- Vanilla Essence 1 teaspoon
- Sweetened Condensed Milk 120 grams (you can alter to your taste)
- Fresh Cream 200 grams
- Salt a pinch
Method
Step 1
Place the fresh cream in a blender and blend till frothy (you can also whisk well in a big bowl). Add sweetened condensed milk and blend again. Add vanilla essence and salt and blend for a minute on low to medium speed till all well combined.
Step 2
In a plastic/tupperware container, pour the entire mix and freeze for 2 hours. Then blend the entire ice cream again. Pour the ice cream back in the container and freeze for 7-8 hours or overnight.
Try this extremely delicious Affogato (vanilla ice cream topped a shot of espresso coffee) for an extraordinary experience.

Looks amazing and love that you made your ice cream from scratch – Jamie has his vanilla ice cream recipe in his Comfort Food book – it’s also on my blog…

Hey! We visited the Jamie’s Italian in Singapore. Loved most of the dishes we tried, especially the affogato. The only dish that didn’t impress us was the Ravioli, as it’s sauce was too watery.
Look forward to hearing from you when you try this recipe. 🙂
